Global Issue

1. Brief description of the issue.
- Write THREE questions starting with "What if.....?" about "your global isse."
- Brainstorm and explain why the world should care about this issue.

Our 3 What if's?
- What if Child Labour was officailly allowed in the world?
- What if Children Fought back?
- What if Child Labour didn't exist?
Reasons for why the world should care about Child Labour
- With Child Labour it is putting children in a dangerous position and putting their health at risk.
- Children are missing out on alot of opportunities like education.
- It is abusing Human Rights
- It is going against child's wishes
- It is affecting alot of people around the world
- Children are being mistreated
- Many children in hazardous and dangerous jobs are in danger of injury, even death

2. Why do you consider this a global issue? (Who does it affect? Where is it occurring? What proportion of the world is affected or will be affected in the future?) Child Labour is a global issue because it affects people in different countries all over the world.

3. What are some of the different opinions/perspectives on the issue?

Child Labour can be a good thing for children. For example, if they were to deliver newspapers before school, they benefit from learning how to work, gaining responsibility and earn a bit of money. But child labour could also be a bad thing because what if the child was not paid? Then the child would be exploited.

4. Why are there different opinion/perspectives on the issue? (Give examples, evidence and pictures to support your answers above)

5. What are your individual opinions on the issue? (each group memeber comments about this)

6. What are some of the solutions to solve this global issue?

7. Who should carry out the solution(s)?

8. Imagine your group is in charge of deciding what the world should do about the issue. Brainstorm the ways that you would solve your global issue. Justify your choice. (You will need to work together on this)
